Description

Concert Hall named after Aram Khachaturian is the pearl of Armenian architecture. The outstanding Armenian architect Alexander Tamanyan conceived it in the form of winter and summer halls, with two amphitheaters with separate stages.

Project and layout of the building in 1937 were presented at the international exhibition in Paris and were awarded the main prize (Gold Medal). Unfortunately, technical problems and conditions of those years and the unexpected death of Tamanyan in 1936. prevented the full implementation of this project.

Today the hall named after Aram Khachaturian can accommodate 1,300 spectators. Along with other components of the project, the initial appearance of the building underwent significant changes.

In front of the concert hall there is a monument to Aram Khachaturian (author - Yuri Petrosyan), opened on June 6, 1999. for the composer's birthday. This monument complements the impressive view of Place de France.
