About event
The opera "Anush" will be held at the A.A. Spendiaryan Opera and Ballet Theater. Here, you will have the opportunity to immerse yourself in a stunning love story written by the Armenian composer Armen Tigranyan back in 1912.
The plot of the opera is full of passion and emotion. It tells the story of the love between a young peasant girl, Anush, and a young man, Capo. Their feelings and happiness seem invulnerable, but something happens at their wedding that changes everything. According to custom, Capo and Anush's brother, Mosi, must compete in wrestling, but there should be no winner or loser. However, Capo is overcome by passion and cannot resist, throwing the girl's brother to the ground. This violation of custom entails serious consequences. Mosi, obsessed with revenge, kills Capo, and Anush is unable to survive the loss of her loved one. This story becomes truly great and tragic, in which the death of Anush and Capo plunges their fellow tribesmen into deep grief.
Talented performers, under the direction of musical director and conductor Karen Durgaryan, will create a unique atmosphere and revive every moment of this amazing story. Stage director Gegham Grigoryan embodies the folk customs of Armenia on stage, and artist Grisha Sahakyan adds beauty and splendor to every detail of the stage.
The genre of this opera mixes elements of classics and folklore, great music and stunning dances. The staging of Vilen Galstyan's dances delightfully complements the work and immerses the audience in a whirlwind of emotions.
